St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has received confirmation from the International Cricket Council that its Technical Committee has approved Kirk Edwards and Devon Thomas replacing the injured duo of Adrian Barath and Carlton Baugh.

Edwards, the right handed Barbadian strokemaker, and Thomas, the effervescent Antigua wicketkeeper/batsman, will depart the Caribbean this evening and are scheduled to join the West Indies World Cup squad in India on Monday, February 21.

The West Indies opening match will be against South Africa at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Thursday, February 24.

The Caribbean team then face The Netherlands (February 28, Delhi), Bangladesh (March 4, Dhaka), Ireland (March 11, Mohali), England (March 17, Chennai), and India (March 20, Chennai).
