St John’s, Antigua – “Did you live it? Win tickets!” – That is the slogan for the exciting ticket giveaway campaign the WICB has put on for a special group of faithful fans.

The WICB is treating seasoned fans this Digicel Series as the Windies take on Pakistan and newly crowned World Cup champions India. In celebration of the West Indies first Test win in England, the WICB will offer free tickets to any fan who was born before June 24 1950.

The West Indies produced their first Test win in England between June 24 and 29 1950 at Lords – a triumph which is immortalized in the classic calypso ‘Cricket lovely cricket’.

Any fan who was born before June 24, 1950 will receive two free tickets to any match of their choice. There is an even bigger bonus – any fan who was born between June 24 and 29 in 1950 or any year prior to 1950 will receive ten free tickets to any match of their choice.

“We want to give back to the fans who have been faithful to West Indies cricket over the years, those who have lived through the good times and the challenging times,” WICB Event Manager Cindy McLean said.

Ticket prices for the Digicel Series have been radically slashed – up to 85% in some cases – to make it easier on fans budgets and Under 16s enter free to all matches.

West Indies take on Pakistan and India in a total of two T20s, ten ODIs and five Tests all across the Caribbean from April 21 to July 10.

The Digicel Series 2011 opens with West Indies clashing with Pakistan in a one off Digicel Twenty20 at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds in St Lucia on April 21st. Two Digicel ODIs will follow at Beausejour, two at Kensington Oval (April 28th and May 2nd – both public holidays in Barbados) and the final Digicel ODI v Pakistan at the Guyana National Stadium on Thursday May 5th (Indian Arrival Day – a public holiday in Guyana).
