SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 7, 2022) – The second season of the Toyota Minor League Cricket (MiLC) Championship presented by Sunoco returns this summer with more than 200 matches set to take place over ten weekends of action starting on Saturday, June 25. The full schedule of action is now available at www.minorleaguecricket.com.

More than 400 players will take part in the semi-professional tournament representing 26 teams located in 20 cities. The MiLC Championship is the most extensive competition in American cricket and the only nationwide T20 championship. All 200 games will be live streamed, with broadcast details to be released later.

“In 2021, American cricket took huge strides in its rapid development with the inaugural Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship taking place,” said Justin Geale, MiLC Tournament Director. “The high quality cricket in MiLC provides tremendous opportunities for hundreds of players from across the country. The investment made by MiLC team owners in facilities and team performance will result in an even stronger level of competition this year and we’re thankful to our title sponsor Toyota and presenting sponsor Sunoco for their support of Minor League Cricket.”

MiLC’s inaugural season in 2021 was won by the Silicon Valley Strikers last October. The Bay Area team, captained by Unmukt Chand, defeated the New Jersey Stallions at the final held in Morrisville, North Carolina at Church Street Park.

The 26 participating teams in the 2022 season will compete in four geographic divisions – Eastern, Central, Southern and Western – over eight weekends of regular season play. The top two teams in each division will qualify for the Conference Semi-finals, to be held Aug. 20-21. The winners of the four Conference Semi-final matchups will advance to MiLC Finals Weekend on Aug. 27-28.

Team rosters for the 2022 season have already been drafted and feature the strongest talent available in American cricket. Each team features a selection of marquee players, priority domestic players, and a required number of U21 and U19 players. The primary aim of the tournament is to give a platform and opportunity for the best cricketers in America to showcase their abilities at a national level and build cricket in communities across the country.
