Amarnauth Persaud hits an unbeaten 100 in Meten Meer Zorg win over Galaxy.

Persaud and Andy Mohammed batted beautifully to see MMZ reached the hundred opening  partnership with Mohammed scoring a quick 45 before he was out caught at the midwicket boundary off Sobin Ramphal, Persaud looks  very solid at the crease was joined by the calm Saud Hussain, Persaud as we know is one of the best  youth  all-rounder in the  country was left out of the USA under 19 squad for the under 19 world cup qualifier ,Persaud put that behind him and continued to bat like a superstar ,Persaud on 49 played  a glorious cover drive to brought  up his half century, Hussain was batting well until he was out caught for 19. This brings the attractive flamboyant USA under 19 player to join his mate at the crease.

These two will see MMZ to the two hundred mark, with Ross being the aggressor played some attractive shot, as the overs were drying up Ross tried to go over the top was out caught for a well played 43. Persaud was joined by Majeed with the score on 220 for 3 in the 38th over and Persaud in the 90s things were getting tense for the young man. The jubilant moment came  when he drove one through extra cover for a double to bring up what was a well deserved  maiden hundred he  whipped his USA cap off and celebrated to his team mates with a huge smile on his face ,his knock includes six sweetly timed boundaries and two massive sixes. MMZ finishes on 228 for 3 off their 40 overs.

Galaxy sent out Vickram Petam and Alon Harmacoond to open the batting it was the young Rocky Kowchai and the off spinner, the experienced Zaaid Majeed for the MMZ boys. Rocky was first to strike bowled Harmacoond for two, skipper Sunesh Wazid  joined his partner and didn’t last long edge a Kowchai delivery to wicketkeeper Asgarally. The young promising Rafeek Nazeer walked to the crease to joined Petam. Nazeer looks very composed as he played some fine shots around the park; he lost his partner Petam who was stumped by Asgarally for 10 off Majeed. Thackurdeen Dhanraj and Metray Balgobin were cleaned up by Azurdeen Mohammed for three and duck respectively. Nazeer found a reliable partner Yudesh Bissnauth. The pair batted well to bring up the hundred for Galaxy, this pair was batting well until the skipper switched around Saumil Gandhi and immediately he had the wicket of Nazeer caught at mid-on by Amarnauth Persaud for a well played 33, Bissnauth soon followed brilliantly caught by the substitute fielder Neel Patel who relish the opportunity to be on the field, Bissnauth made a quick fire 48.
