Long Island United with a misfiring batting line up squared up against unbeaten Everest ACS at Brentwood I. LIUCC took first strike and managed a below par score of 191 for 9 in 40 overs, Shaun Mehta, Karan Ganesh with 3 each and Zamin Amin with 2 wickets did the most damage.

Waqas Shahid 33, Ishtiaque Gul 42, and Ahson Qadeer 39 were the main contributors in batting. With bowling being their strong suit all season, the game was set up to be an exciting one.

The 17 year-old speedster Anwer Khan ran in with all guns blazing and had five wickets in his first spell, with a couple of dropped catches as well. The new pairing of youngsters Anwer Khan and 20 year old keeper Waqas Ashiq, seems to be gelling with Waqas taking 4 catches off Anwer’s bowling.

Ishtiaque Gul was very unlucky at the other end with catches being dropped off his bowling and some close caught behind shouts going the other way.

Karan Ganesh and Zamin bedded in with fifties to post a 113 run stand to see their side close to victory. In the end Asim Khan and Ahson Qadeer took two wickets each to have Everest ACS 191 for 9, but Karan would see them home to remain undefeated.
