NY T20 Big Bash
Atlanta Strikers Cricket team is the latest edition to the inaugural New York T20 Big Bash Cricket Tournament. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the Strikers team will comprise a group of Under-19 players who will be managed and Coach by Vijay Gangi. Gangi is one of the youth coordinators in the Atlanta Georgia Cricket Conference (AGCC), and has been working with youth players for the last 2 years.

Vijay Gangi will manage and coach the Atlanta Strikers team.

“My main goal is to provide opportunities for the youngsters to play cricket in diverse platforms. Our boys are eagerly looking forward to playing in the New York T20 Big Bash tournament and gaining some valuable experience in the T20 format. This also gives an opportunity to showcase their skills and talent in front of the cricketing fraternity and hopefully will serve as a spring board for entry into the US national team” said Mr Gangi.

Atlanta Strikers will led by the talented 17 year old Kushal Ganji who plays in the AGCC. He was the youngest to score a century in the AGCC last year as a 16 year old. He is a right handed opening batsman and a slow off spin bowler. He averages 50 in all formats of cricket in the AGCC. He represented AGCC XI and played a few T20 competitions including US Opens, Friendship Cups, and Unity Cup.

Additionally, the team consists of Sunny Kumar and Azeem Charania who have also represented AGCC XI. Sunny is an attacking opening batsman with a great deal of potential. Along with Kush he also played in US open and Friendship cup. Azeem is a left-arm spinner and a great striker of the ball.

NY T20 Group Vice President Mr. Linden Fraser is very thrilled with the news of this young team coming from Atlanta, Georgia to take part in this historical tournament and is encouraging more youths to get involved in different teams.

The tournament is scheduled from Friday May 2nd – Sunday May 4th and according to the tournament manager Jeff Miller the games scheduled for Friday May 2nd will have the first game starting at 12:00 noon and the second game at 4:00 pm, this move according to Mr Miller is to accommodate teams coming from outside the New York City area and also to facilitate players who has work commitment
