York College got off to a fiery start with Kashif Choudry hitting two massive sixes in the first over but soon faltered which led to a middle order collapse as York lost Karan Ganesh, Abbas Khizar, Hayat Sikander and Hugo D’ Oliviera very quickly.

Then came Bilal Shahid and Shamas Rehman with a positive attitude and both played brilliant knocks and ended unbeaten. Bilal scoring 44* (1×6, 7×4) and Shams 46* (3×6, 4×4). York summed up their inning at 207 off 20 overs.

NYU batsmen walked to crease with a big task at hand. The openers got off to good start with 2 boundaries in the first over but quickly lost 4 wickets.

After 14 overs NYU was 77 for 4 as the game stopped due to time factor and unavailability of the field. The umpires used D/L method which resulted in 67 runs win for York College Cardinals.

Baseen Khan, Bilal Shahid, Karan Ganesh picked up one wicket each.

A good all round performance from Bilal and a desirable start to the American College Cricket Spring Break Championship for York and hope to lift the Chanderpaul Championship Trophy.

York College will play Auburn University at Brian Piccolo Park and hope to keep up the winning momentum.
