Winners of the Arjun Vohra Scholarship.

The California Cricket Academy (CCA) Annual Scholarship Awards ceremony was held in November 2021. Sponsored by The Arjun-Vohra (AV) Trust and Altius Strategic Consulting LLC, this is the third year for the cricket scholarship awards initiated by the Arjun-Vohra foundation.

In a joint statement, Rajib Arjun and Kanika Vohra, who established the cricket scholarships, said, “We are continuing to offer scholarships to the exceptional talent found at the California Cricket Academy and in different age groups. Talent who have demonstrated the spirit of the game, commitment, focus, consistency, and raised the standard of youth cricket, and exhibited excellence to raise the game to a higher level of accomplishment. We at California Cricket Academy and The Arjun-Vohra Trust continue to recognize your immense contributions to cricket in the year 2021 and congratulate you on being selected for this annual award,”

The Year 2021 Arjun-Vohra Foundation and Altius Strategic Consulting LLC award winners for various age categories are:
• U10 – Dhruv Vij
• U12 – Vivaan Jagtiani
• U13-U15 – Ashwin Pentela and Suhrith Kaushik
• U15-U18 – Vikram Chandar

Scholarships –
•​ Will be awarded to one player in each age category for the next five years, starting in 2018
•​ The AV Trust and ASC will match the scholarship awards
•​ The cash component of the award will be increased by 10% every year for the next four years.

Players are selected based on the following –
• ​CCA internal games and tournaments (20%)
•​ USA competitive domestic tournaments (50%)
•​ International competitive tournaments (30%)
• ​For U15-U18 category for adult league
• ​Source of all data: CricClubs and CCA records

The selection criteria include both Quantitative and Qualitative standards, as follows –

Qualitative factors:
Attendance in physical fitness, classes, team practices
On and Off-field comportment
Manager and Coach feedback
Volunteerism related to cricket

Quantitative factors:
Must be registered as a CCA player
Batting, bowling, and fielding scores
Number of ’50s, 100+; 5 Wickets; 7 Wickets+
Aggregate runs in the calendar year: 750, 1000, Aggregate wickets in the calendar year: 50s, 75s, Aggregate fielding in the calendar year (catches, run-outs, stumpings)

Total Scholarship awards are as follows –
•​U10: $550.00
•​U12: $550.00
•​U13-15: $1,100.00
•​U15-18: $1,100.00
