California Cricket Academy under-15 team.


London Inter county Championship

During summer of 2014, California Cricket Academy  participated  in the prestigious London Schools Inter county championship at Oundle High school in Oundle.  Oundle High school has six beautifully landscaped fields and well prepared turf pitches.

Tournament organizers made arrangement for all the players and team management to stay at high school dorms. Healthy meals were served to ensure boys remain healthy during the tournament.

CCA U15  team which consisted of 3 players from outside the academy was  ranked number 5. With 2 wins, academy maintained its 5th position among 10 counties.  Top county players were picked after stringent 3 phase selection and filtering process to represent their respective counties. Final 24 probable went thru months of practice before 14 were picked for this event. Several current English national team and county players have participated in this event over the years. Each county team had staff consisting of ECB qualified coach, Fitness coach, physio and team manager. Legendary cricketer Keith Fletcher coached Essex County teams.

California Cricket academy won 3 games against teams from Bradfordshire, London Schools and Cleveland teams. CCA Team was coached by CA and WICB certified coach Dashrath Sankhe and Rahul Sharma was team manager.

London Schools has again invited CCA to participate next year.

“We are going to make UK tour as a permanent fixture. We will continue to reach out to players throughout the country to participate in the future at various age group teams.”, says Kinjal Buch, President of California Cricket Academy.

Highlights of Game 1 – CCA U15 Defeated Cleveland. Cleveland team scored 236 in 48 overs while CCA scored 239 in 50 overs.

Highlights of Game 2 – CCA U15 Vs Somerset. Somerset (258 in 50 overs)  Defeated CCA U15 (237 in 50 overs)

Highlights of Game 3 – Bradfordshire (244 in 46 overs) defeated CCA U15 ( 243 in 50 overs)

Highlights of Game 4 – CCA (210 for 9) defeated London Schools team (203 all out in 48 overs).
