Canadian U-19 Squad To Compete In Windies Regional Competition

The Canadian Under-19 team’s victory in the recent International Cricket Council Americas World Cup qualifying tournament earned them a berth in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Under 19 One Day tournament, to be played in St. Kitts from August 15-28. The team will open against Guyana on August 15th, play Jamaica on the 17th, Barbados on the 22nd, Trinidad and Tobago on the 24th, and Windward Islands on the 26th.

Cricket Canada has named the following team for the tournament:

6. Ashtan Deosammy
7. Krishen Samuel
8. Pranav Sharma
9. Romel Shahzad
10. Pieter Christiaan Pretorius
11. Aran Pathmanathan
12. Faisal Jamkhandi
13. Rishiv Joshi
14. Kunwar Singh Chana
Farouk Kirmani – Coach
Wijay Senathirajah – Manager
Reserves: Emanuel Khokhar, Arshdeep Dhaliwal, Raqib Sharma, Abaan Khan

Coach of the team Farouk Kirmani said, “As the team now needs to prepare for January’s World Cup in New Zealand, gaining experience against high level competition will be invaluable. We are grateful to CWI for providing this opportunity, and are confident that this team will represent Canada well in what will be challenging matches”.
