Championship Win For Junoon, Bridgeport And Vibes SC

Brooklyn cricket League Knockout Final
On 9/29 the finals between Junoon and Middlesex in the Brooklyn Cricket League. Junoon won the toss and elected to take first strike on a damp pitch. Wyne Ahmad was the first to go brilliantly stumped by wicket keeper Anthony Sahadeo off Alston Bacchus bowling, Syed Haider Ali joined Usman Yousuf, the pair produced a solid 150 runs for the 3rd wicket. Usman Yousuf anchored the innings with some fine batting, but on 37 he was dropped at first slip by Tony Francis off Chandrapaul Roopnarine bowling.

He was the 2nd wicket to fall cleaned bowled by a Mark Audain yorker he made an elegant 66. Syed Haider Ali batted brilliantly but lived a charmed life he was dropped on the long on boundary by Orie on the long on boundary off Mark Audain on 21, he went on to make a match winning 87 runs finally falling to Chandrapaul Roopnarine. Sajid Farid came in and produced a whirlwind 31 not out, smashing Captain Mark Audain for 3 Sixes in the death overs, he was also dropped at long off by Orie from the last ball of Mark Audain bowling spell. Waqas Ahmad was unbeaten on 14.

Bowling for Middlesex, Kavir Singh 6/0/30/0, Alston Bacchus 6/0/30/1, Treldon McMillan 5/0/35/1, Chandrapaul Roopnarine 6/0/49/1 and Mark Audain 6/0/55/1.

Middlesex was dismissed for a paltry 95 runs, only Chandrapaul Roopnarine offered any resistance to the Junoon bowling attacking with a well composed 35 runs, the only other batsman to get into double figures was Anthony Sahadeo with 15.

Bowling for Junoon, left arm seamer Waqas Ahmad 4/0/20/3, Rehan Shahid 5/1/19/2, Mohammed Awais 3.1/0/11/2, Aris Arif 5/0/21/1 and Faisal Ali 2/0/8/1.

It was Junoon fifth appearance in a Brooklyn Cricket League Final. The finally won the Championship by 118 runs.

On 9/30 at New Field ground in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Bridgeport 161 for 9 from 40 overs, Royan Smith former young West Indies player a brilliant 47, Chris Watson 37, Steve Pitter 18, Patrick Atkinson 15. Bowling for West Haven, P. Ramaswamy 8/1/32/3, J. Patel 8/0/41/2, and H. Kollipara 8/0/45/2.

West Haven 158 all out from 39.2 overs, G. Swaarna 36, R. Narayanaa 28, H. Kollipara 18, and S. Ramaswamy 16. Bowling for Bridgeport, Steve Pitter 5.2/0/24/3, D. James 8/0/24/2, Chris Watson 8/1/20/2, and Sean Edwards 8/1/33/2. Bridgeport winning by 3 runs.

Vibes SC winning by 5 wickets and taking Twenty20 Champions.
