Received from USYCA Affiliate Missouri Youth Cricket Association:

Missouri Youth Cricket Association (MYCA) is delighted to share that youth cricket has now grown its roots in the city of Ferguson, MO.

MYCA would like to thank Christina Tucker for working with city of Ferguson and setting this up. Christina Tucker and Ashok Dubey led this four-hour cricket camp, and it was supported by Priya Singh, Ranjeet Singh and a few MYCA youth players.

The event named Sunday Funday and was held Sunday July 19. Cricket was one of 20 booths that community children could participate in and enjoy. The cricket booth was one of the most popular and lots of positives came out of it. We did a survey among the parents who visited our station, asking if they would be interested in joining a youth program in Ferguson. Fourteen parents signed up.

As a result, we decided to start a new youth cricket club in city of Ferguson. The youth cricket club will be led by Christina and Ashok. The city of Ferguson has also showed interest in partnering with MYCA in further development of youth cricket in the city, and MYCA is pleased work with them and help the game grow further in the St. Louis region.

The MYCA volunteering team and its support from the community has grown manifold this year. While obstacles continue to arise, MYCA is thankful to all the players and parents for their trust and friendship. The support from community in helping the sport grow has been instrumental in increased youth cricket participation in recent times.
