Former Guyana and West Indies opening batsman Ryan Ramdass tied the knot on Saturday to his long-time sweetheart Ashley Panday at a wedding ceremony which was held in Scarborough.

One year after their engagement also in Toronto, the Canadian-based Guyanese decided to form the union under the Hindu rites. The 33-year-old Ramdass, who represented the regional side in a test and one-day international, produced several outstanding innings for Guyana at the first-class level.

Ramdass, the only son of the Roy Ramdass stated that he was delighted to start the new chapter of his career by marrying 23-year-old Ashley, the smallest daughter of businessman Suresh Panday.

Both expressed happiness and are highly excited by becoming husband and wife.

“I [am] very excited and happy today (Saturday); I would to thank each and everyone to grace the occasion and witness our marriage,” Ramdass related just after his auspicious moment.

The right-handed batsman currently featuring for Vikings Cricket Club in the Toronto and District Cricket Association Elite competition and has a great degree of eagerness to attire in the Canadian colors at the highest level.

The wedding function was kept at Vishnu Satsang Mandir where friends, families and other cricketers were in attendance. Ashley’s uncle Bish Panday was also presented.

Bish was a former Guyana Cricket Board’s Secretary and ex-Georgetown Cricket Association President.
Both couple parents extended congratulations to them and wished the marriage great success and eternity.

Meanwhile, President of Vikings, Bhowan Persaud wholeheartedly congratulated the club’s captain and his newly-wed wife a prosperous life and is very confident Ryan would play a fantastic ‘innings’.

Many other families and friends also shared similar sentiments and are set to continue with celebrations with a Reception function on Sunday also in Scarborough.
