Galaxy’s Rafeek Nazeer Five-For And Ton Too Much For ACS

Galaxy Cricket Club took on American Cricket Society (ACS) on Sunday in the Eastern American Cricket Association regular season and upset them by winning their encounter by 25 runs.

Rafeek Nazeer poses with bat and ball after the game, he scored a classy 102 and picked up 5 for 30.

Galaxy CC won the toss and loss their openers Krishna Harricharan and PSAL school cricket star Randall Wilson for a duck and four respectively.

But it was the batting of young Rafeek Nazeer who hit a determined 102 that included eight fours and three sixes. Other contributors included Sudesh Wazid (15), Yudesh Bissnauth (19), Asraf Ganny (12) and Metray Balgobin (13) who helped Galaxy to a decent total of 187 off their allotted 40 overs.

Aun Merchant was the pick of ACS bowlers picking up 2 for 16. Charlton Senior, Karan Ganesh and Treon Forde had 2 wickets apiece.

In reply ACS could only manage a total of 162, as Rafeek Nazeer picked up his first five wicket haul of the season.

The main contributors for ACS were Steve Nowrangilall (24), Deonauth Baksh (48) and Karan Ganesh 33.

Rafeek Nazeer bowled seven overs for thirty runs and picked up 5 wickets which included the likes of Deosnauth Baksh, Karan Ganesh and Zamin Amin. Danniram Seepersaud and Thackurdeen Dhanraj had 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
