Queens United won by eight wickets

Westbury won the toss and elected to bat, posted a modest total of 107 all-out in 18.5 overs. The top scorers were Carlos Green, 28, skipper Horace Porter, 21, and Cliff Roy, 15. the other seven batters all posted single-digit totals, except for Extras, who contributed 12.

Bowling for Queens United: Gavan Brown enjoyed figures of 3.5-0-14-4 at an average of 3.65. Overseas registrant Michail Powell posted 4-1-18-3, with fellow overseas registrant Oraine Williams, Ansar Yasim, and David Morgan, each snaring one wicket apiece. The Westbury wickets fell at 11, 15, 52, 82, 90, 97, 97, 106, 107, and 107.

In return, and at its home ground, Queens United quickly completed the day’s work. They scored 108, and the victory lost only two wickets. Overseas registrant Andrew Davis, 38 (1×6, 7x4s), and former USA National Men’s captain Richard Staple, 1, Overseas registrant Oraine Williams, 40 off 23 balls with 3x4s, and fellow overseas registrant Akeem Dewar, 25 off 17 deliveries, 1×6, 2x4s rounded out the job at hand in the 11.3 overs inning.

Bowling for Westbury – Carlos Green 1 for 28 and overseas registrant Joseph Brown, 1 for 29 were the scalpers. The Queens United wickets fell at 16 and 49.

Sheffield Cricket Club vs. Atlantis Cricket Club – NY
Sheffield won by 104 runs.

Atlantis won the toss and elected to bowl. Sheffield would post 185 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. The top scorers were Darius Gopaul, 34 (2x6s, 3x4s), overseas registrant Christopher Barnwell, 32 (1×6, 5x4s), and Sheffield skipper Akeem Dodson, 22. The Sheffield wickets fell at 24, 25, 77, 112, 144, 149, 171, and 183.

Bowling for Atlantis – Overseas registrant Ronaldo Ali Mohammad 3-0-31-2 was the most successful bowler. The other five bowlers used by Atlantis all scalped one wicket apiece.

The Atlantis inning was off to a disastrous start, with the team losing its first five wickets for less than 40 runs at 1/4, 2/11, 3/13, 4/31, and 5/39. The remaining five wickets’ total contribution was 42.

Trevon Griffith was the pick of the Sheffield bowlers with figures of 2-9-18-3. Asad Fuddain supported Griffith’s effort with 4-0-24-2, as Atlantis left 2.3 overs on the table in the defeat.

Suburbia vs. Spice Island
Spice Island won by six wickets.

Suburbia won the toss and opted to bat, scoring 169 for eight wickets, behind an excellent opening partnership of 114 in 13.1 overs. The in-form Andre Lindsay, 56 (3x6s, 3x4s), and Towan Henry, 45 (7x4s) were the principal architects behind the six wickets victory.

The Suburbia wickets fell at 114, 136, 136, 137, 143, 157, 157, and 169. Bowling for Spice Island, Troy Baptiste 4-0-29-3 and Damien Reed 4-0-24-2, and Andy Mahase 3-0-32-2, were the principal wicket-takers. Devon Jones had one for 24 off his four overs.

The Spice Island inning ended at 170. Damien Reed top-scored with 52. Overseas registrant Keon George, 39, Andy Mahase, 21, and Clint Chastou, 15, along with Extras, 39, rounded out the 170 total and four-run loss to Suburbia.

Sheffield won by nine wickets.

Staten Island celebrating its 150th anniversary, won the toss and decided to have a bat posting 117 behind the bats of Abdul Choudhury, 56 (7x6s, 1×4), and Shafikul Sacroolar, 16 (4x4s). The other batters ‘ contribution totaled 25 runs, with Mr. Extras contributing an additional 20. The Staten Island wickets fell 19, 47, 48, 84, 97, 99, 117, and 117. Bowling for Sheffield – Abdur Rehman was the most successful with figures of 4-0-27-3. Overseas registrant Christopher Barnwell, 1-0-3-2, and Raj Nanand, 3-0-15-2, were the main wicket-takers.

Sheffield, in return, quickly muscled its way to the nine-wicket win in 9.1 overs, with Trevon Griffith posting 52 off 28 deliveries (2x6s, 7x4s) and Christopher Barnwell, 48 not out (4x6s, 3x4s). Opener Michael Noble, 2 made a hasty exit after facing four balls in the second over of the inning.

Suburbia Sports Club vs. Lucas Sports Club
Lucas Sports Club won by seven runs.

Lucas won the toss and took the first strike, posting 196 for two, mainly behind Kevin Augustin’s 90 not out. Ibrahim Zahoor contributed 33 with one maximum and four boundaries, while Orval Crawford chipped in with 13 and Extras with 25.

The Suburbia wickets fell at 50 and 62. Cuthbert Mendonca, one for 18, and Rahul Sooden, one for 44, were the two wicket-takers.

The Suburbia inning was off to a decent start, with the team losing its first wicket at 86 for one in the eighth and the second at 112 in the 13th over. Despite the great start and tail-ender contributions from Cuthbert Mendonca, 36 (4x6s, 2x4s), and Andre Lindsay, 15, not out along with Extras, 27. Suburbia fell short of the target by eight runs.

Rodari Small was responsible for the two Suburbia wickets at the cost of 31 runs.

Lucas Cricket Club vs. Queens United Sports Club

Queens United won the toss and elected to bowl, scuttling out Lucas for 124 for six in the 20 overs. Top-scorers for Lucas were Kevin Augusta, 37 (36s), and opener Orval Crawford, 37 (2x6s, 2x4s). Other double-digit contributors included Dave Hart, 21 (1×6, 2x4s). The Lucas wickets fell at 12, 65, 67, 106, 107, and 121.

Bowling for Queens United, Gavan Brown had 2 for 13 off four overs and overseas registrant Oraine Williams 2 for 13 off his four overs.

In reply, Queens United quickly punched its way to 129 in 7.1 overs, and the “W” off of the opening bats of Oraine Williams, 89 not-out off 23 balls (12x6s), 3x4s), and Andrew Davis, 36 not-out (2x6s, 5x4s).
