Electing to bat first after being awarded the toss LSC top runs getter Trevor Henry once again was the feature of the LSC inning. Blasting his fourth consecutive half century, Henry, looked at his fluent best. His 67 runs inning was compiled with 10 fours and two sixes. Trinson Carmichael (28), Romeno Deane (26), Madramootoo (26) and Dilly Khilawan (10) were the supporting batsmen in double figures when LSC was restricted to 195 all out in 36.3 overs.

Shazam Ramjohn and Nicholas Nandan were the pick of the NY-Centurion bowlers with 4 for 31 and 4 for 40 each. Carlos Baker and Ritish Bridgelall picked up a wicket each.

The NY-C chase got off to a steady start but was set back by Carmichael’s pace bowling from the Foch Boulevard end. Carmichael removed the openers before Leon Mohabir bowled the number 3 batsman. At 75 for 3 when the first water break was called the red squad must have still been confident about their chance of upsetting LSC and avoid demotion to the B-Division.

Vijendra Singh and Leon Mohabir kept things tight after the break before Madramootoo took over the attack and took control of the game. Bowling the next 5 overs from the Foch Blvd end Madramootoo picked up 6 of the remaining 7 wickets as the Centurion inning folded for 126 all out. The 5 wicket haul was Madramootoo’s second for LSC having picked up a five wicket haul in LSC’s final game of the 2014 season at the same location.

Trevor Henry lead the batting with his 4th consecutive half-century and a new club record of 552 runs in the season.
