Rana Hussain T20 Tournament
MMZ Superstars won their double header last Saturday in the Hussain T20 tournament, the first game saw Superstars took on Challenger at 11 a.m.

Challenger won the toss and decided to bat first and was restricted to 116 all out in their 20 overs.  The main destroyers were Ricky Kissoon picking up 3 for 14 in his 4 over spell, Faisal Taj 3 for 16 in 4 overs and Keith Edie 2 for 19 in 4 overs.

In reply Superstars knocked off the required runs with the two youngsters Rafeek Nazeer 50 not out and Randall Wilson 25 saw their team through to the Quarter finals.

Summary Challenger 116 all out off 20 overs, Superstars 117 for 5 in 18 overs.

In the afternoon game Superstars took on a powerful Jamaican Shadi Khan team in a Quarter finals match up.

Game got underway at 3 p.m. with the two skippers Azurdeen Mohammed for Superstars and George Adams of Shadi Eleven walked out to the middle, it was Adam who won the coin flip and decided to bat first.

The young Superstars team took the field with Sunesh Wazid taken up the attack; it was USA players Dennis Evans and Glen Hall opened up for Shadi Eleven. Wazid removed Hall with a good delivery  well caught by Ricky Kissoon for 2, Moorant joined Evans and didn’t troubled the scorer, he was out lbw for a duck off Wazid.  Lindsay came in and played a spanking shot for four, he didn’t last long as he was out caught by USA wicket keeper Akeem Dodson for 9.  Javian Thomas came in to join Evans who was batting well, with the score board reading 20 for 3 in 4 overs.

Yudesh Bisnauth came on replacing Keith Edie who bowled a good spell. Bisnauth struck in his first over as he had Thomas caught for five.  In walked the former Jamaican player Dexieth Palmer. Andy Mohammed came on and cleaned up Evans for a well played 30. Powell joins Palmer and the two added 20 before Powel was run out for 15. Skipper George Adams came in and plundered two massive sixes out of the park and attempting a maximum he was caught by Rafeek Nazeer for 13. Palmer was next to go caught by Dodson for 17.  Shadi Eleven was eventually bowled out for 98 off 19.5 overs.

Ricky Kissoon had 3 for 14.

The Superstars started off with Azurdeen Mohammed and the hard hitting Faisal Taj. It was Charlton Senior and George Adams for Shadi Eleven. Senior removed Mohammed for four. Randall Wilson came in looking good as he drove one through covers for a boundary. Taj on the other hand was plundering the bowlers he hit a massive six to bring up the Superstars fifty. Wilson was out caught off a full toss. USA player Akeem Dodson came in and played some fine shots before he was out stumped off Dennis Evans. It was Rafeek Nazeer who walked to the crease to ensure that the Superstars make it to the semi finals. Superstars finished with 99 for 3 off 12.1 overs.

Superstars last year runners up will face off with the power house squad of the Strikers led by Karan Ganesh and includes Zaheer Saffie, Gajanand Sigh, Zamal Khan and Troy Dudnauth to name a few.  Game is slated for this Saturday at 80th Street and Seaview Avenue at 1 p.m.

The Superstars squad is: Azrudeen Mohammed (Captain), Ricky Kissoon (VC), Akeem Dodson, Sunesh Wazid, Debo Sankar, Wahid Ward, Rafeek Nazeer, Randal Wilson, Rashad Marshall, Yudesh Bisnauth, Faisal  Taj, Keith Edie, Jason Hall, Gangaram Lochan , Jermaine Lawson and Ajaz Asgarally as the manager.
