On Saturday July 24th, Middlesex VS Diplomats, this match was dubbed the clash of the season between two well balance teams. Middlesex won the toss and asked Diplomats to take first strike. Diplomats immediately found themselves in trouble losing opener Francis Mendonca bowled by Adam Sanford first delivery of the match for a duck, his off and middle stump went cart wheeling, beaten for pace. Then in the 3rd over of the day Diplomats lost the talent Romeno Deane LBW to Adam Sanford for a duck, Kevin Charles came to the wicket and played some handsome aggressive strokes, before he was caught at the wicket from fast bowler Dominica Audain out swinger for 33 runs. Tonio McKenzie who was hit on the helmet by fast bowler Dominic Audain, batted with courage and determination for a well played 28, and Andre Kirton played in his typical aggressive style for an aggresive 41.

Bowling for Middlesex, young off spinner Daran Denis ripped the heart out of Diplomats lower order to finish with 4 wickets for 28 runs from 4 overs, former West Indies fast bowler Adam Sanford 2 wickets for 27 runs from 5 overs, Dominic Audain 2 wickets for 28 runs from 4 overs, Mark Audain and Joseph Ledwridge 1 wicket a piece for 28 and 19 runs respectively, Diplomats 138 all out from 19.1 overs.

Middlesex opening pair started aggressively, but when the score was on 27 runs, they lost the hard hitting Jacob Emmanuel, bowled by a Francis Mendonca inswinger for 16, then on 52 Joseph Ledwridge was caught in the covers off a well flighted delivery from Andre Kirton for 18, Captain Mark Audain batted patiently and responsible for a well played 43 runs, he sheet anchored the inning with middle order batsman Lester Benn who batted responsible for a well played 30 not out.
