Maryland Youth Cricket Association (MYCA) is pleased to welcome Gary Kirsten’s CoachED (coachedcricket.com) as a coach-training partner. Recognizing the need for coaches in Maryland to upgrade their training, MYCA has been impressed with the CoachED system. In this program, Gary and his CoachED team have created a “platform for coaches to develop and learn their profession with a deeper understanding through an accessible online course which aims to teach coaches the basics and intricacies of the game in a holistic manner to maximize the potential of the players they are working with.”

Gary Kirsten played 101 Tests and 185 ODIs for South Africa, averaging over 40 with the bat in both formats. He had particular success against England, scoring 275 in Durban on Boxing Day 1999 after having posted 210 in Manchester the previous year.

Five of our state coaches are now enrolled in the CoachED Accreditation program, which includes 10 mentorship sessions with Gary. Here are the full details of that program: https://coachedcricket.com/product/coached-accreditation-package-gbl/

The five state coaches who will receive CoachED training are:

  • Sham Chotoo (MD 12U and Girls)
  • Sandan Pothukuchi (MD 14U)
  • Jignesh Shah (MD 12U)
  • Falgun Patel (MD 16U)
  • Dharani Puli (MD 14U)

MYCA will be providing updates on the progress of its coaches as they advance through the CoachED system in the coming weeks and months.
