Sheffield pulled off a thumping win when they met Westbury last Sunday in the Metropolitan Cricket League Clement Busta Lawrence tournament.

Sheffield skipper Akeem Dodson won the toss and decided to take first strike. Sheffield openers Dennis Evans and Ahmad Dodson led from the top with 43 and 42 respectively. The other batsmen to reach double figures were Jermaine Lawson 13 and Andre Hooper 23. Sheffield compiled 160 all out off 34.2 overs.

For Westbury, Javein Thomas was the most successful bowler claiming 4 for 24 off 5.2 overs. He was well supported by Barrington Bartley who took 2 for 24 and Clinton Lewis had figures of 3 for 25.

Javin Thomas also led the batting for Westbury with 28, fellow opener Deron Ferguson made 22, Barrington Bartley 22 and Cheddi Gayle 19 were the other contributors.

Westbury in reply fell short managing only 159 due to some fine bowling from Jermaine Lawson who had 3 for 53, Andre Hooper 2 for 40 and Bruce Blackwood 3 for 30. Ryan Smith had a great economy rate of 1.14 from his seven overs that included a maiden and took a wicket for eight runs.
