New York T20 Big Bash Cricket
The NY T20 Group Inc. announced today the official launching of its website at http://www.nyt20.com. The website will provide details and information for the inaugural New York Big Bash T20 Cricket Tournament scheduled May 2 – 4, 2014.

“We are delighted on the launching of our new website. It will provide the teams, officials and sponsors a daily overview of the developments pertaining to this exciting tournament,” said Ajaz Asgarally, President of the NY T20 Group, Inc, the organizers of the tournament.

The NY T20 Group, Inc a New York based corporation, also announced that Idlewild Park-149 Ave & 223rd Street, Rosedale, Queens has been selected for the finals of the tournament. Jeff Miller, Event Manager, exclaimed “We are overwhelm and ecstatic to have the opportunity to host some of the preliminary games, one of the semi-finals and finals at the Mecca for cricket in the New York metropolitan area. Further, with the support and cooperation of Joe Siewharack, President of the American Cricket League and John Wilson, President of the Brooklyn Cricket League, we were able to obtain some of the best venues in Brooklyn and Queens to host the games. Baisley Pond Park will host some of the preliminary round games and one of the semi-finals. Located at corner of Rockaway Blvd and Baisley Blvd, the park is both a beautiful place to visit and a great place to play cricket.”

Rahul Sharma, Secretary of the NY T20 Group, noted that “enquiries about participating in the tournament has been fast and furious. We have at least ten teams who have been confirmed.” Interesting teams who are seeking to participate in tournament should register as soon as possible for the few remaining spots.

Special thanks to Lester Hooper and the Officials of the New York Cricket Region who has endorsed and sanctioned the tournament. The organizers has also announced that the New York T20 Cricket Tournament will be held annually, commencing on the first weekend of May to start off the NY cricket season.

According to Linden Fraser, Vice President of the NY T20 Group “We will hosting a New York Big Bash reception on Friday, May 2, 2014 for the teams, officials, sponsors and guest. Further, the champions of the tournament will get an automatic berth in the prestigious 2014 US Cricket Open to be held on December 4-7, 2014 in Lauderhill, Florida, competing for the first prize of $75,000.00.
