USA Cricket Youth Participation Seminar

Over Fifty Youth Coaches And Administrators Embark On Two Day Workshop

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the city of Colorado Springs play host to USA Cricket youth administrators, from across the country, this weekend at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Presentations concentrating on techniques to increase youth cricket participation across the United States will be led by world renowned sports administration professionals over the two day workshops.

Representatives from USA Ultimate, Cricket Australia, The Royal Netherlands Cricket Board and Cricket Brasil join a host of local cricket administrators in sharing ideas of best practice to assist in broadening youth participation throughout the country.

Cricket Australia’s education courses are acknowledged among the best in the world and National Field Manager, Pat Hassett is eager to be involved:
“At Cricket Australia we are continually working on programs and initiatives to introduce more girls and boys to cricket and keep them participating in the game. Hopefully some of these insights might help the US cricket community to grow youth participation across this massive country. It’s an exciting proposition!”

Masaood Yunus, former President of the Minnesota Cricket Association and long-time junior cricket advocate is looking forward to the weekend commencing:

“I’m very eager to hear the ideas, tips and success stories that will come from the impressive line-up of presenters.  Equally, I look forward to exchanging positive personal experiences with the many passionate youth cricket stakeholders that are going to be in Colorado Springs” Yunus said.

ICC Americas Regional Development Manager Ben Kavenagh, is hosting the Seminar and is optimistic about the future of cricket in the USA:
“We hope the concepts and collaboration generated at this seminar will help the passionate youth cricket volunteers in the US to achieve the vision of cricket becoming the fastest growing participation sport in America for females and males”.
