QUCA Adds Conditioning And Fielding Coach Personnel

The Queens United Cricket Academy (QUCA) currently conducting its winter 2015-2016 indoor program, is proud to announce that Chris Finley and Paul Carufe have joined the academy as physical trainer and fielding coach respectively; to support the academy’s staff. The vast experience of the two specialist coaches in baseball and other American sports will be a tremendous boost for the academy’s kids.

Chris Finely – (Physio and Strength & Conditioning Coach)
Chris Finely is a former American football player who played for St. Johns University. He has been the strength and conditioning coach for former New York Yankee Pitcher Allen Watson’s pitching clinic at East Coast Sports Academy. He also personally trains collegiate level lacrosse players from Mount Saint Mary’s and Colgate University. He has provided strength and conditioning training for football players from Carey and Freeport High School. Currently, he is providing strength and conditioning training for the Long Island Storm Baseball training camp. His experience and expertise will be a bonus for the young cricketers.

Paul Carufe (Baseball Coach) – Fielding Coach
Paul Carufe is a former right handed pitcher for Stony Brook University and Head Coach of St. Mary’s High School.  He coached at Stony Brook University In 2005 & 2006 as fielding and pitching coach. He then left to become the first recruiting coordinator at Dowling College in 2007. Paul has since worked for three Major League Baseball teams as an associate scout for the Washington Nationals, the Tampa Bay Rays and Blue Jays. His experience in baseball will be a great asset for the academy’s budding cricketers.

QUCA is located at Idlewild Cricket Ground in Rosedale, Queens, NY and has a comprehensive program for youth cricketers 6-15 years old. The current winter program scheduled to conclude at the end of March is being conducted at an indoor facility at 7 Terminal Road in West Hempstead, NY and costs $150 per participant. The training and coaching program includes 30 minutes of physical training, 30 minutes of fielding drills, and one hour each of batting and bowling sessions, each day.
