The Meten Meer Zorg (MMZ) won the toss and elected to bat first with the usual pair of the talented skipper Azurdeen Mohammed and Ken Nandkumar to start the MMZ innings.

The inform Nandkumar was the first to go caught behind trying to guide a lifting delivery. The young attractive Trevis Ross promoted to number three joins his skipper Azurdeen Mohammed as the two played some glorious cricket shots to all part of the Brentwood field.

As the dark clouds started to cover the area the MMZ batsmen tried to get as much runs as possible with Mohammed reaching his fifty which includes eight fours and a huge six, he was eventually out for a well played 60 from an excellent diving catch by Ray Mohan at square leg off Asim khan. Ross was joined by another young aggressive batsman Amarnauth Persaud.

The two batted well with Ross getting to his half century with  a superb pull shot to deep square leg for a six, he was eventually out caught for a well played 75 which includes nine fours and three massive sixes. Saud Hussain joined Persaud and the pair batted well until the rain came, at that stage MMZ was 190 for 3 off 26.2 overs.

The long island United players did a fantastic job to cover the entire square in making sure that play can resume. At around 4:10 pm the rain stop and it was bright sunshine again at Brentwood.

The boys from the Island started their innings needing 190 to win in 26.2 overs. Amir Rafiq and Harris Ali opened the batting. Rafiq was first to go, cleaned up by an off cutter from the dependable Amarnauth Persaud.

Harris Ali played some fine shots before he was caught by Rawle Hoyte off the young pacer Rocky Kowchai. Waqas played well until he was run out from a brilliant piece of fielding from Azurdeen Mohammed, Adan Khan and Isthiaque Gul played brilliantly until Hemendra Ramdihal playing his first season with the MMZ boys brought into the attack, he bowled brilliantly and removed both Khan and Gul.

Hemendra Ramdihal had 4 for 23.

Sajeed Khan was bowled by Zaaed  Majeed for 1, Selwyn Mohan in his usual busy fashion at the crease was bowled  by Amarnauth Persaud. Waqas Shahid and Asim Khan was both dismiss off Ramdihal.  LIU was eventually bowled out in the last delivery for 166.
