RHLCC’s Spinner Leon Mohabir Bags 7’fer
Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club’s (RHLCC) Leon Mohabir spun webs around the opposition on Saturday, May 8 to finish with 7 wickets for 18 runs off 3.5 overs. Mohabir’s heroics led RHL to an 85 runs win in the New York National Cricket League’s (NYNCL) Saturday competition.
RHLCC’s Liberty Lions team suffered a close 2-wicket loss in the same competition despite a half-century from Danesh Deonarain and an all-around performance from Dwayne Hibbert. The club’s Sunday fixture ended in a rain abandonment.
Mohabir’s amazing feat of 7 wickets in an inning culminated in the final over of the inning when he picked up 4 wickets in the space of 5 balls, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick.
