Richmond Hill Cricket Club (RHCC) continues to impress in the Eastern American Cricket Association Power-40 Competition in zone 2 with a thumping victory over Enmore Cricket Club. It was a showdown—completely dominated by RHCC  in all departments, as they remained unbeaten— getting ready for the final round game vs Victory CC next Sunday and the second phase of the tournament, where the top 10-teams —battle for supremacy or you could say “Dog eat Dog”.

Quickly padding up was Mark Gomes and Kumar Dindial to open the innings for Enmore after they had won the toss. As usual, Richmond Hill opening ball bowlers Sudesh Dhaniram and Deryck McDonald bowled with accuracy. K. Dindial was first to be dismissed, caught for 1 off McDonald. Mark Gomes started aggressively with a 4 and 6 off McDonald, but a horrible mixed-up going for quick single with Michael Noble that look comical would see the back of Mark Gomes for 15. The ever reliable Skipper Safraz Ali came in at #4, but never looked comfortable, giving an early life by Debo Sankar—straight forward catch spilled fielding at square-leg. He would soon depart for 15, stumped off R. Bactowar.

N. Joseph soon followed for 7. However, tottering  at 55 for 5, L. Latchman and Saheed Mohamed came together and put together a 6-wicket partnership worth 52 runs with the veteran Saheed Mohamed being the more dominant with a short blitz in his 45 that included 3 towering sixes and 3 fours. Sending the kids playing basketball at the Noth-end of the park—running for cover. With the dismissal of Mohamed, Enmore soon folded for 112 all-out in 31 overs, as C. Senior (4), S. Jainaraine (1) and M. Montana (0) fell cheaply.

Bowling for RHCC Sudesh Dhaniram and Shameer Sadloo scalped 3 wickets, while Ramphal Bactowar and Deryck McDonald had 2 each.

Chasing down 112 for victory at just under 3-runs an over Richmond hill lost Prashad Mahadeo (4) hooking at pacer Charlton Senior, who was bowling a lively spell and Sudesh Dhaniran (10) looking to finish the game early—caught off medium-pacer M. Montana.

However, Zaheer Sadloo and Wahid Ward would see Richmond Hill home with no further hiccup, with a 3-wicket partnership worth 101 runs. The little left-hander batted with complete poise—driving with elegance as the ball would hit the concrete fence 6 times in his knock of 43 not out while his partner Wahid Ward took 14 deliveries to get off the mark before unleashing  a flurry of boundaries (6×4) and (2×6) in his nnbeaten 42. A very comfortable victory to RHCC. Bowling Enmore C. Senior and M. Montana had 1 wicket each.
