As the first round of the Eastern American Cricket Association competition gets under-way—Richmond Hill sounded the alarm with a massive score of 317—winning by 238 runs.

Zaheer Sadloo during his knock.

The Sadloo brothers slammed half-centuries; Shameer innings of 72 was more entertaining and contained 5-sixes and 4-fours which came off a meager 42 deliveries, while the younger brother Zaheer chose to tuck the single rotating the strike while dispatching the loose deliveries to the fence. Deryck McDonald returned to route the opposition with an impressive spell of medium fast bowling—picking-up 5 victims for 22 runs off 8 overs including one maiden.

Despite a gallant effort from season swing bowler Balgrim Datt with 6 victims for 45 runs off his allotted 8 overs—Richmond Hill was able to produce a match winning total. Winning the toss and with-out hesitation, skipper Shameer Sadloo opted to first use of a typical Baisley track.
Balgrim Datt sent an early panic into the Richmond Hill camp when he captured the prize wickets of  Debo Sankar (3)  trapped lbw and Sudesh Dhaniram (0), lobbing a miscued stroke to gully.

However, Prashad Mahadeo joined Zaheer Sadloo and the pair took the score to 112 before Mahadeo fell for a quick-fire 37 (27 balls). Wahid Ward stuck around briefly for his 23—another victim of Datt lbw candidate going for a big hit. Dhaniram Seepersaud was also among the runs with 30 and Kumar Nandalal with 18. Deryck McDonald 11 not out was left stranded at the other end.

Set a Mammoth 317 for victory at 7.9 runs an over, the Allstars batsmen never looked comfortable and were soon in trouble as openers R. Singh (1) and G. Morgon (3) was back in their chairs watching as the other batsmen struggled to keep-up. H. Darji (10) and F. Rambarran (4) and B. Datt (0) falling for just 23 runs. S. Marinf were the only other batsman to reach double figures with 25 as Allstars crumble to 79 all out in 23 overs.
