Ricky Kissoon, Shafiq Jadavji, Rashid Afzal, and Mohan Kissoon; all former members of Cosmos CC took upon an endeavor to promote “the next generation of cricketers” within the Tristate area.  The addition of experienced player Paul Charran has only brought good luck to the young club.  RSCC has gone undefeated after the addition of Paul.

The core members of the second year old club is comprised of under-19 players from places such as Dominica, Antigua, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Guyana.  Former USA under-19 all-rounder Regis Burton is from Antigua, while former Winward Islands under-15 all-rounder Rasheem James is from Dominica.  How can we forget the 2008 NYC-PSAL cricketer of the year Dominic Gomes who is from Bangladesh, and the Guyanese combination of former NYR under-19 opening batsman/wicket-keeper Leikram “Bugsy” Latchman, aggressive opening batsman Richard Rampersad, seventeen-year old left-hand swing bowler Yogindra “Kishan” Dass, sixteen-year old off-spinner Ian “Baby” Latchman, and offcourse our reliable fielder/scorer Gopaul “Sean” Ramsahai.

Members of RSCC are grateful to play alongside current Windward Islands national player Keddy Lesporis who has played a major role in the youngsters cricketing careers.  The addition of Lesporis has excelled the other youngsters to compete at the utmost level in the EACA.  His mental, and physical preparation before and during a match is a perfect example for a young cricket club.  Rising Star will strive to instill sportsmanship, discipline, and high expectations for all the youths.

Rising Star CC will meet Richmond Hill CC on Sunday, August 1st. @ Jacob Riis’s Park in the 2010 EACA 40-overs competition.  Members of RSCC will like to wish all the teams good luck! in the playoffs.
