Rudy’s election was unopposed by eligible voting members of the league. His reelection marks his third consecutive term in the top position of the EACA.

Apart from Rudy Persaud, there were changed to every other position on the EACA Board.  Cuthbert “Cutty” Mendonca was elected unanimously as the vice-president, Anubhav Chopra elected Treasurer, Danesh Deonarain, Secretary and Ajaz Asgarally Assistant Treasurer/Secretary.

Though Rudy, Cutty and Ajaz are names which have been associated with the EACA and New York cricket for some time now Danesh and Anubhav are fairly new comers to the league. Their backgrounds, however, suggests competence for their positions.

Anubhav Chopra is the treasurer of Victory Cricket Club and a practicing CPA in the State of New York. He holds a B.S in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury and has been member of the EACA league since 2009. Danesh Deonarain is the Vice President of Liberty Cricket Club. He is a University of Michigan graduate with a background in engineering. Danesh has played cricket in the US for two previous leagues, (Great Lakes Cricket Conference in Michigan & Nassau League in NY) before settling in the EACA in 2010.

In relation to teams participating in the 2011 season, to date the board has agreed on 12 teams. Eleven of the 12 teams are returning from 2010 with one new comer. The returning teams are Atlantis CC, Bayshore Tigers, East Side Warriors, Everest/ACS, Golden Arrow, Hillside SC, Liberty CC, Long Island United CC, Meten Meer Zorg, Richmond Hill CC & Victory CC. Big Apple Cricket Club is the new addition to the league and is expected to be captained by Shiv Raghubar.

The EACA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Exit Realty Lifestyle (718-217-3948) located on 215 -15 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428 for hosting the meeting.
