USACCA won the tournament.

The Staten Island Cricket Club conducted it’s 3rd Annual Under-19 Youth Cricket Festival at Walkers Park, 50 Bard Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310 from Monday August 19th to Wednesday August 21st, 2013.

The Youth Cricket Festival is designed for 4 teams to participate but in the last minute, The New York Youth CC expressed their inability to participate due to the clash with the schedule of NYPD Youth Cricket Tournament that was held in Queens, Brooklyn and other parts of New York City.

The other three teams that participated in this Youth Cricket Festival are as follows:
1. Staten Island and North East Combined
2. USACCA
3. Washington Cricket Club

The USACCA won the Championship, Staten Island and North East Combined team came as runner-up and the Washington CC came third in the Youth Cricket Festival.

In the first day of the game, Jaskaran Singh of Staten Island North East Combined scored 53 runs which was in vain as their total score of 110 runs in 30 overs were easily surpassed by USACCA with scintillating performance of Raj Bhavsar with 46 runs and Rafeek Nazeer with 22 runs in 13.4 overs. USACCA won over the Staten Island North East Combined team.

Rafeek Nazeer took the best batsman award for his tally of 110 runs.

In the second game, the USACCA scored 244 runs in 30 overs with a magnificent batting by Rafeek Nazeer with 110 runs coupled with 31 runs with Travis Ross. In reply Washington CC could score 109 runs in 26.5 overs with R. Singh and S. Azeez scoring 24 and 15 respectively for the team. The Washington Team was restricted by good bowling contribution from Poojan Mody, Vivek Narayan and Gauranshu Sharma each grabbing two wickets, with Gauranshu Sharma taking a crucial wicket that lead to slide of Washington team and big win of USACCA team.

In the third game, The Staten Island North East Combined team won with a score of 180 runs in 30 overs against Washington CC with Haider Imran scoring a quick 73 runs for which Washington CC replied with a score of 172 runs all out in 29 overs. This game was fought tooth and nail by both teams with Harish Saikara capturing the match turning wickets of Brendon Perera who at one stage was unstoppable and Rizwaa with 26 runs to his credit at that point.

The highlights of the game are as follows:
R. Nazeer won the Best Batsman Award with a tournament high score of 110 runs against Washington CC and 22 runs against Staten Island North East combined team.

Lijo Vazhuvachery won the Best Bowler Award with a tournament high of 5 wickets with 3 wickets against Staten Island NorthEast Combined and 2 wickets against Washington CC.

Both the Best Batsman and the Bowler has each give a professional cricket bat courtesy the President and Vice President of USA Cricket Academy, New Jersey, Mr. Ashok Patel and Mr. Rahul Sharma respectively who are great supporters of Youth Cricket in this Region.

Besides this a Cricket Player shirt has been given to the following players, Mr. Haider Imran for his score of 73 runs for SI NorthEast Combined and Mr. Brendon Perera for his best score of 26 for Washington CC.

The Washington team Manager Mr. Ajith Silva and The Staten Island Cricket Club Youth Coordinator Mr. Radhakrishna Mohan each received a bat for their team’s best performance by the Staten Island Cricket Club.

The Prizes for the Winner, Runner and the third were given trophies by the Mr. Modeste, President of Staten Island Cricket Club. The SI Cricket Club Vice President Dr. Kumar Balakrishnan and Youth Coordinator Radhakrishna Mohan were also present during the prize distribution ceremony.
