Texas Red Cobras snatched an exciting seven-run victory over Houston Cougars to emerge victorious in the inaugural Houston T10 Cricket Championship at the newly laid turf wicket at Smart Choice-Moosa Stadium.

Houston Cougars won the toss and decided to chase the victory target. Texas Red Cobras opened their innings through Indiana all-rounder Devin Patel (18) and top scorer Chiranjeev Reddy (41, 5x4s, 1×6). This pair realized 32 runs before Devin Patel was caught by Fawad Raza of the bowling of Usman Rafiqiq. Patel faced 12 balls and hit four boundaries.

Texas Red Cobras posted 96 for 5 in their allotted 10 overs Ryan Corns (9) and Varun Singh (12) also made their contribution while Chiranjeev Reddy played a confident innings of 41 which contained four hits to the rope and one effortless six.

For Houston Cougars, Usman Rafiqiq (2 for 23) was the most successful bowler.

Required to score 97 runs for victory, Houston Cougars were restricted to 89 for 6 in stipulated 10 overs despite a 47-run fourth wicket partnership between Waleed Ahmed (37, 24 balls, 5x4s, 1×6) and Prasanth Manne (18). They carried their team’s total from 32 for 3 in 3.4 overs to 79-4 in nine overs. However, their effort proved in vain.

For Texas Red Cobras Ryan Corns, Anand Patel, Ricardo Powell and Devin Patel captured one wicket each for 21, 14, 10 and 19 runs, respectively.

Devin Patel from Indiana finished among ranked players (5th as batsman, 4th as Most Valuable Player and 6th as bowler).
