USA Under-19 Squad Announced

The final Team USA squad for the ICC U19 World Cup Qualifier in Toronto was announced today by ICC Americas’ USA Project.

Commenting on the squad, USA Selection Panel Chairman, Ricardo Powell, said “We feel we have selected a strong group of players capable of winning this event and qualifying for the U19 World Cup. The squad has 6 athletes returning from representing the USA previously at U19 level. These players are joined by a number of very talented younger players who will relish the opportunity to represent their country. We look forward to the group working hard over the next 6 weeks to make the most of this opportunity ahead of them.”

Powell continued to comment on the recently completed trial process “The final trial in LA and the prior Combine in Houston outlined just how much young talent there is across the USA. Seeing the amount of ability and the passion for the game at this younger age group is hugely encouraging for the future of USA cricket. We hope those players who have missed selection bounce back from their disappointment by working even harder to improve their skills, athleticism and professionalism to continue to drive the standards of performance higher across the USA. We greatly appreciate each player and their families commitment to supporting this process and we look forward to working with the U19 team and the rest of the players long into the future.”
