“Wiseman”, The Magnificent Warrior As Sheffield Defeats Pioneer/Tristate

Although Pioneer/Tristate cricket team was handily beaten by Sheffield Cricket Club in their encounter last Sunday, Clint Wiseman proved that he is one of the most formidable cricketer in the Metropolitan Cricket League.

Clint Wiseman hit a brilliant 113 for Pioneer/Tristate.

In the game played at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, Sheffield won the toss and asked Pioneer to take first strike.

Horitho Paul and USA under 17 player, Chetram “Mario” Persaud opened the inning but Paul was soon out for no score. Wiseman  joined Mario at the crease and the pair put on 30 runs before Mario fell for 15. At this point, Wiseman decided to take matters into his own hands and set about demolishing the Sheffield bowling attack.

No bowler was safe from the rampage of the “dreaded one”. After reaching fifty, he increased his scoring in amazing fashion and when he was finally out he had scored a brilliant 113 which included 13 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported  by Hugo D’Olivera who made 35 not out as Pioneer/Tristate ended at 174 for 6 after 34 overs. The best bowler for Sheffield was D. Moffet who took 2 for 31.

Sheffield made the game look easy as they reached 176 for 2, needing only 22 overs to gain the victory. Dennis” The Crow” Evans led the way with a well-played century, ending with 122 not out. He was given strong support by D. Smith who made 30 not out.  D’Olivera took 1 for 17 and Ganesh 1 for 33.

Pioneer/Tristate lost the game, their spirits were lifted by the brilliant batting of Wiseman and the spectators were very appreciative of his efforts.
