A rampant century from captain Dominique Rikhi lead Richmond Hill Liberty Cricket Club (RHLCC) to an unbeaten third game in the Eastern American Cricket Association (EACA) 40-Over competition. His opening partner Dino Chooweenam blasted 77 when #TheBlueNation boys came up against Meter-Meer-Zorg NY Cricket Club (MMZ-NY CC) at the cage on Sunday, June 9th. A clinical bowling performance ensure a 133 runs victory after RHLCC posted 310 runs for 7 wickets.

Captain Rikhi kept getting right on Sunday starting from the toss when the coin landed in his favor and he chose to bat. The RHLCC openers tormented the MMZ-NY bowlers blasting 154 runs in 19 overs before Chooweenam departed. This was not before both Chooweenam and Rikhi got to half centuries. The former blasting 77 off 44 balls which featured 8 fours and 6 sixes.

The prolific Rikhi brought up his second consecutive half-century in 50 balls having facilitated the strike to the destructive Chooweenam. He converted rapidly, however, taking just 34 more balls to get to his third century for #TheBlueNation. The scorecard was lit up with twelve boundaries and six maximums by the time Rikhi’s inning came to an end on 122.

Terrence Madramootoo (36) and Trevor Henry (22) boosted the scorecard past the 300 runs mark to have the SVC Sawh Voltacom sponsored team post 310 for 7 after their 40 overs allotment. Bowling for MMZ-NY CC Keith Edie topped the wicket column with 3 wickets for 43 runs while Kelvin Shewpersaud and Somai Gandhi picked up 2 wickets each and there was one for Andy Mohammed.

Jamiel Jackman got RHLCC’s defense of the total off to a brilliant start sending back Keith Eddie for 1. Henry struck shortly after and would go on to pick up two wickets along with Jackman. The opening bowlers set back the MMZ chase to 54 for 4 by the time the 8th over came around. The rest from there was a formality with Nikin Permaul and Kelvin Shewpersaud contributing cameos of 39 and 29 respectively.

Leon Mohabir once again topped the wickets tally with 3 for 35 runs. Altaaf Habibullah picked up two wickets to join Jackman and Henry with 2 scalps each and Chooweenam picked up one off his lone over.

The Century 21 Professional Realty sponsored RHLCC continues it’s 2019 EACA 40 Overs competition next Sunday at Bay Park against Galaxy CC. #TheBlueNation’s Saturday squad also continue their competition in the New York National Cricket League this Saturday after a commanding win last Saturday at The Baisley Cage.
