Cockeysville Middle School in Baltimore County, Maryland will be the site of a new community youth cricket program this spring. The Cockeysville Recreation Council-sponsored program will open on April 28 and compete in the new Maryland Junior Cricket League that begins match play in June. Many of the students in Cockeysville area schools are from cricket-playing backgrounds, and the team, which will be coached by USYCA President Jamie Harrison, hopes to progress quickly.
Registrations are only $50 for an entire season of cricket. The program will conduct a Walk-in Registration Day on April 20 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Padonia Elementary Activity Room. The first twenty registrations will receive a cricket gift and all registrations entered into drawing for a free cricket set. There will also be cricket bat-and-ball sets available for purchase.
