St John’s Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has considerably slashed ticket prices for the Digicel Series across the board. The WICB, in an effort to ensure that every fan across the region can attend the games without having to put a burden on their pockets, has ensured that the costs of tickets are extremely affordable.
Tickets for the 2011 Series opener, the Digicel Twenty20 at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds in St Lucia will cost a mere EC$50 (US$18.50) for all stands.
Fans will pay EC$60 (US$22) for tickets to any stand at Beausejour to the Digicel ODIs which follow and just EC$30 (US$11) for grounds.
Watching cricket in Barbados will also come on the cheap. Fans there will pay BD$25 (US$12.50) or BD$30 (US$15) to watch the Third and Fourth Digicel ODIs at the Kensington Oval.
And in Guyana tickets will be between GY$1000 (US$5) to GY$3000 (US$15) for the Fifth and final Digicel ODI.
Tickets for the First Digicel Test at the Guyana National Stadium will be between GY$500 (US$2.50) to GY$1500 (US$7.50) per day.
Kittitian fans will also enjoy rock bottom ticket prices, paying between EC$5 (US$1.85) to EC$20 (US$7.40) for daily tickets to the Second and final Digicel Test at Warner Park.
In some instances prices have been slashed by over 80% from previous years.
Additionally there will be no charge for children 16 years and under.
“These continue to be challenging economic times and we’re extremely excited to be offering tickets to the fans at such reduced prices. We’re confident that it will help to bring fans back to cricket,” said WICB Events Manager Cindy McLean.
