Middlesex Wins By Four Wickets
New York Power and Middlesex Cricket Club clashed with each other on June 10th at Marine Park A. In an exciting game, Middlesex was victorious by 6 wickets. New York Power put up a total of 192 runs, being all out from 30 overs. The notable contributors to their batting were Osama Iqbal with 61 runs, Qamar Hussein with 38 runs, and Shantaau Roy with 20 runs. Middlesex’s bowling performance was impressive, especially Rawle Jackman who delivered a brilliant spell of 5 wickets for just 15 runs in 4 overs. Navin Stewart, a former Trinidad and Tobago player, also showcased his skills by taking 2 wickets for 21 runs in 6 overs.
In response, Middlesex scored 193 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Navin Stewart stood out again this time with a notable knock of 56 runs, supported by Marlon Richards, another former Trinidad and Tobago player, who remained unbeaten at 41 runs. Cavaliers Sports Club showcased their batting prowess, accumulating a total of 283 runs while losing five wickets.
The standout performance came from Shaquille Allick, who remained unbeaten at a superb score of 139 runs. Shane Powell contributed 42 runs, and Denville McKenzie, a former Jamaica player, provided excellent support with an unbeaten 36 runs.
On the bowling front, Ibrar Hussain Bhutta of Desi Hitterz claimed two wickets, conceding 47 runs in his 7 overs. In response, Desi Hitterz fought valiantly but fell short, being all out for 254 runs. Hyron Shallow 173 Powers Middlesex over Cavaliers
On June 11th, an exhilarating cricket match took place at Marine Park Old B between Middlesex Cricket Club and Cavaliers Sports Club. In a dominant display, Middlesex won by a substantial margin of 106 runs. Middlesex showcased their batting prowess, amassing an impressive total of 337 runs while losing only three wickets.
The highlight of their innings came from Hyron Shallow, a former Windward Islands batsman, who played a phenomenal unbeaten innings of 173 runs, including 9 sixes and 22 fours. Marlon Richards also made a significant contribution with an unbeaten 36 runs, while Francis Mendonca, Captain Mark Audain, and Rawle Jackman added scores of 36, 24, and 24 respectively.
On the bowling front, Dawnley Grant, a former Windward Islands fast bowler, claimed two wickets for Cavaliers Sports Club, conceding 58 runs in his 7 overs. In response, Cavaliers Sports Club managed to score 231 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 35 overs. Denville McKenzie played a valiant knock of 64 runs, supported by Shaquille Allick, who contributed 60 runs. Middlesex CC’s Mark Audain and Sunil Orie both claimed two wickets each, with figures of 2 wickets for 37 runs and 2 wickets for 44 runs respectively.
Junoon Defeats Diplomats by 151 Runs
At Marine Park A on June 11th, an exciting cricket match unfolded between Junoon and Diplomats. In a commanding performance, Junoon came up with a remarkable win of 151 runs. Junoon displayed their batting prowess, accumulating a formidable total of 308 runs while losing 8 wickets in the span of 35 overs.
The notable contributions came from Waqas Sakki, who scored 68 runs, Haider Ali with a solid knock of 66 runs, and Usman Yousaf, who added 31 runs to the total. Diplomats’ bowling effort was led by Steve St. Clair, who claimed three wickets, giving away 55 runs in his 6 overs, while Michael Joseph took two wickets for 39 runs in his 7 overs.
