England continued where they had left off as they made it four wins from four by prevailing in their Super Six opener at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026.

An unbeaten half-century from Thomas Rew following a fine team bowling display saw them to a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh.

Elsewhere, Sri Lanka edged to a four-wicket victory over Afghanistan to stay in the hunt for the semi-finals.

And in the play-off clash between the USA and Scotland, Adnit Jhamb’s brilliant hundred saw the Americans home by seven wickets.

The United States Under-19s produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Scotland Under-19s in the second play-off of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026 at Harare Sports Club on Monday, with Adnit Jhamb’s magnificent unbeaten century anchoring a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

Scotland, having won the toss, opted to bat first on a surface that offered steady bounce but demanded application. Their innings was built around a composed knock from opener Theo Robinson, who stood tall amid regular wickets at the other end. Robinson’s 83 off 101 balls, laced with eight fours and a six, was the backbone of Scotland’s total as he guided the side through the middle overs with maturity and calm.

The early exchanges were evenly poised before Rayaan Taj struck decisive blows. Taj removed Olly Pillinger for 23 and Rory Grant for 10, keeping the scoring in check and forcing Scotland to rebuild. Manu Saraswat added momentum with a brisk 41 from 49 balls, but his dismissal triggered a sudden collapse that stalled Scotland’s progress. Three wickets fell in the space of five balls, leaving the innings teetering at 164 for five in the 34th over.

Ritvik Appidi then took control of the closing stages, finishing with excellent figures of 4 for 54. His accuracy and variation curtailed Scotland’s lower order, though a late counterattack from Jake Woodhouse, who struck 28 from just 21 deliveries, lifted the total beyond 230. Scotland were eventually bowled out for 236 on the final ball of the innings, a competitive but not imposing score given the conditions.

In reply, the USA Under-19s showed clarity of purpose from the outset. While Amrinder Gill (35) and Sahil Garg (16) fell inside the first nine overs, the early setbacks merely set the stage for a decisive partnership. Adnit Jhamb and Utkarsh Srivastava combined with authority, blending controlled accumulation with timely aggression to wrest the initiative firmly away from Scotland.

Jhamb was the standout, producing a superb unbeaten 116 from 93 balls. His innings was a model of modern one-day batting, featuring 17 boundaries and a six, as he rotated strike effectively and punished anything loose. Srivastava complemented him perfectly with a fluent 52 off 52 deliveries, striking eight fours and a six to keep the required rate in check.

The pair added 129 runs for the third wicket, effectively sealing the contest. Even after Srivastava’s dismissal late in the chase, there was no drama, as Jhamb calmly steered the USA past the target in just 38.4 overs, finishing the match with authority and composure.

Jhamb’s match-winning century rightly earned him the Player of the Match award, capping a dominant USA performance. The victory underlined the side’s growing depth and confidence, as they outplayed Scotland in all three disciplines to progress convincingly from the play-off encounter.
