Canada’s innings was built around solid contributions from Yuvraj Samra and Ali Nadeem, who provided a steady foundation with scores of 46 and 51 respectively. Samra struck five boundaries and a six during his 58-ball stay, while Nadeem anchored the innings with a patient half-century off 70 deliveries.

The pair helped Canada recover from a cautious start, but the hosts struggled to capitalize after both set batters departed in quick succession. Matthew Spoors added 24, while Akhil Kumar’s unbeaten 48 off 36 balls injected much-needed momentum late in the innings. Kumar’s knock, featuring three fours and three sixes, lifted Canada beyond the 230-mark after they had slipped to 159 for 7.

USA’s bowling attack maintained pressure throughout the innings. Ehsan Adil was the standout performer, claiming 3 for 27 from his nine overs and removing key top-order batters. Harmeet Singh, Milind Kumar, Shubham Ranjane, and Ritvik Appidi each picked up a wicket.

In reply, the United States endured an early setback when Smit Patel was trapped lbw by Zahid Shirzad for 8. Monank Patel added 22 before becoming Shirzad’s second victim, leaving the visitors at 48 for 2 in the 11th over.

From there, Jayasuriya and Saiteja Mukkamalla took complete control of the contest with an outstanding unbroken partnership worth 187 runs for the third wicket.

Jayasuriya anchored the chase with a composed and authoritative unbeaten 113 from 111 deliveries. His innings featured seven boundaries and four sixes as he expertly balanced caution with aggression. The left-hander accelerated when required and ensured the required run rate remained comfortably within reach.

Mukkamalla provided the perfect supporting role, remaining unbeaten on 81 from 84 balls. His knock included seven fours and a six, and his calm approach complemented Jayasuriya’s century effort.

Canada’s bowlers struggled to break the partnership despite early success from Shirzad, who finished with 2 for 59. The remaining bowlers were unable to make further inroads as the American pair steadily guided their team to victory.

The result strengthens the United States’ position in the League 2 competition and underscores the growing consistency of a side that continues to impress on the international stage.
