Following on from the success of last year’s campaign, Cricket Australia and Spikey Productions have created an exciting new TVC to promote “Summer’s Biggest Dress-Up Party”, the Carlton Mid One Day International Series.
The TV commercial, featuring Australian cricket legend Richie Benaud, showcases some of the weird and wonderful costumes worn by fans during last year’s ODI series and the live cricket action and entertainment on offer at this season. Fast paced and backed by an energetic soundtrack, the commercial captures the party atmosphere that fans can look forward to during this year’s matches.
“Fans across Australia really got behind the dress-up theme during last season, with some truly amazing costumes in the crowd fuelling the party spirit at every match. One Day cricket is fun and social and there is almost as much action off the field as there is on it. Tickets sales have been really strong and we are expecting great crowds as we take on our traditional rivals,” Executive General Manager – Media, Communications & Marketing Manager Ben Amarfio said.
As well as delivering world-class cricket, The Carlton Mid One Day International Series will feature awesome live entertainment at every match fuelling the party atmosphere.
“We had so much footage of the great costumes in the crowd at matches last year and Richie Benaud loved the concept and wanted to be involved. We wanted to capture the energy and excitement that makes the Carlton Mid One Day International Series a great way to spend a day with friends,” said Alex Rolls, Creative Director, Spikey Productions
Richie Benaud was not only excited to be a part of the commercial but even had the chance to meet with some of his most dedicated fans, The Richies.
In 2014, the Carlton Mid One Day International Series will see the Aussies take on the English in an epic five-match series that will see some of the best names in One Day Cricket come head to head – including Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan, Michael Clarke, George Bailey, and Shane Watson. The series is sure to generate excitement around the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, taking place across Australia and New Zealand.
The TVC will air nationally from November and can be viewed here: http://bcove.me/57jw48an
