St John’s, Antigua –The newly constituted Marketing and Business Development Committee of the West Indies Cricket Board met recently in Trinidad and Tobago for its first meeting under the term of WICB President Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron.
Chaired by newly appointed chairman Director Baldath Mahabir, the Committee includes legendary former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, Senator The Honourable Ricky Skerritt, Barbados Cricket Association Director Calvin Hope, Chairman of the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Roopchand Chadeesingh who is also a lawyer and sports enthusiast, Managing Director of Courts Jamaica Dennis Harris, Chief Executive Officer of the RAMCO Group of Companies in Trinidad Imtiaz Rahaman, along with President Cameron and Chief Executive Officer Michael Muirhead.
During the meeting Minister of Energy in the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, The Honourable Kevin Ramnarine paid a courtesy call on the committee.
Chairman Mahabir commented: “We are delighted to have the calibre of persons on this most important committee of the WICB. Mr. Lloyd’s international reputation, experience, insight and ideas will be most critical to our work but so too the thoughts and ideas of all the other members as we chart the way to broaden the range of partners and marketing initiatives of the WICB.”
“We are also honoured that Minister Ramnarine took the time from his busy schedule to join us and we ensured that he was briefly updated on our plans and ideas with regard to the work of the committee,” Mahabir added.
“Minister Ramnarine was especially delighted to have met and engaged Mr. Lloyd and welcomed his continued and valued support and involvement in West Indies cricket at the highest levels,” Mahabir added.
The WICB Marketing and Business Development Committee also includes Corporate Secretary Verlyn Faustin, Commercial Manager Nelecia Yeates and Events Manager Cindy McLean.
