The International Cricket Council is giving cricket fans across the world the opportunity to bid for an official piece of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 history in the form of one of the match day balls used in each of the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the ICC’s showpiece event currently being staged in the Asia sub-continent.
Specialist collectors and fans alike will have the chance to bid at www.iccauctions.com for the following exclusive items:
• A match day ball from each of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 quarter-final games – India v Australia, Pakistan v West Indies, Sri Lanka v England and New Zealand v South Africa
• A match day ball from each of the semi-finals due to take place in Colombo on 29 March (Sri Lanka v New Zealand) and Mohali on 30 March (India v Pakistan)
• A match day ball from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final due to be held in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium on 2 April 2011
Fans also have the chance to bid for the specially minted coins used at the toss from each of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 matches including the knock-out stages, as well as placing bids on signed cricket bats from the likes of Indian batting heroes Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
