Phillips To Replace Barath In WI A Team

The West Indies Cricket Board’s selection panel has named left-handed opening batsman Omar Phillips to replace Adrian Barath in the West Indies A Team for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The 20-year-old Barath withdrew from the tour with an injured right knee. He will remain in Trinidad to do rehabilitation work.
Phillips, 23, represents Combined Campuses & Colleges in the regional first-class and one-day competitions. He made his Test match debut in July, 2009 at Arnos Vale, St Vincent against Bangladesh and made 94 in his first Test innings. He has so far played two Tests with 160 runs at an average of 40.
