ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Rawl Lewis has been named as Interim Team Operations Manager for West Indies Men’s Team at the ICC World T20 Championship. The tournament will be played in India from March 8 to April 3.
He brings to the job a wealth of administrative experience, having worked in the WICB Operations Department for six years, since retiring from regional cricket.
Lewis was part of the WICB team which implemented the programme for the Under-19s which recently won the World Cup; he is also the coordinator for training and development of first class umpires in the region.
Lewis is a former Grenada and Windward Islands captain as well as West Indies all-rounder. The 41-year-old played five Test matches, 28 One-Day Internationals and a single T20 International between 1997 and 2008.
The West Indies are due to arrive in Kolkata on March 7 ahead of the tournament. They will have official warm-up matches against India on Thursday, March 10, and against Australia on Sunday, March 13.
