Scottish bowler Chris Sole is set to make history as he joins the Saint Lucia Kings for the initial phase of the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season. As the first-ever Scotland player to feature in the CPL, Sole will be part of the Kings until Bhanuka Rakapaksa joins the squad after the first five group matches.
With 58 wickets in 38 international matches for Scotland, Sole has been a vital force in their cricketing endeavors, contributing significantly to their impressive performance at the ICC World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe earlier this month.
Additionally, the Kings have made another exciting signing, bringing Zimbabwe international Sean Williams into their ranks. Williams will replace Dasun Shanaka, who is no longer available for the 2023 CPL season. Williams brings a wealth of experience, having amassed over 7500 runs in 238 international matches for Zimbabwe. Beyond his batting prowess, he provides valuable spin bowling options to bolster the Kings’ team.
With these notable additions, the Saint Lucia Kings aim to fortify their squad and make a formidable impact in the upcoming CPL season.
