Melbourne found runs hard to come by and wickets fell at regular intervals. Opener Arif Islam could not find a partner to steady things as Rosedale pacers did a good job of restricting Melbourne to 80 for 5. Arif batted patiently but sensible before felling for 38. Captain Dhillon Singh batting at 7 and top scored with 40 as Melbourne reached 163 all out in 34.1 overs. Rosedale must have felt confident of hitting the target but Melbourne spinners Shojib Zahir (6 overs, 6 wickets for 19 runs) and Pranay Subra (7 overs, 4 wickets for 24 runs) was spot on. Rosedale was all out for 87 in 20.1 overs with only opener Mark Lionel showing any resistance with a brilliant 40.
