By  Ricky Kissoon Troy Mars of John Adams and William Bryant’s Aown Iqbal lighted up Baisley South Park with two magnificent centuries on consecutive days.  Mars became the lead run scorer after he blazed a historic inning against Hillcrest HS on Tuesday, April 24th. at Baisley South Park.  Mars recorded his second century of the season after blasting 177 runs (10 x 4’s and 16 x 6’s). Photo by Shiek Mohamed"][/caption] On the following day, Aown Iqbal scored his second century (167) against a youthful Aviation HS team.  Iqbal’s knock included thirteen 4’s and eight 6’s.  At Baisley Pond Park, Salam Sajib and Long Island City put a dent on Newcomers winning streak.  Sajib scored an unbeaten half-century (50*) to lead all players in best batting average (159). In Brooklyn, Lincoln’s Bilal Khan completed an all-round performance after scoring his first half-century (54) of the season while scalping three more wickets to lead all bowlers in total wickets (16).  On the adjacent pitch at Marine Park, FDR’s Mohaiminul Islam scored his second half-century (52) to join the top five in runs scored. In the Bronx, Lehman’s Zahid Hasan fell eleven runs short of his first century (89) and Ibrahim Ali completed an all-round week of cricket to help the Lions secure first place in their division.  Ali scored 45* and took two wickets against Clinton, and he also accounted for Lehman’s thrilling victory against defeating champions Bryant.  Ali scored his first half-century and accounted for four of Bryant’s vital wickets.
