Unmukt Chand’s unbeaten 100 and Andre Fletcher’s 72 powered Lone Star Athletics to 219-1 against All Stars in Minor League Cricket Central.
Chand finished on 100 not out from 67 balls, striking 11 fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 149.25. Fletcher provided the early momentum with 72 from 43 deliveries, including seven fours and four sixes, before being caught off Yuvan Kiran at 163-1 in the 17th over.
The opening partnership between Fletcher and Chand laid the foundation for the imposing total, taking Lone Star Athletics to 163 before the first wicket fell at 16.2 overs. Chand continued to bat through the innings, while captain Kumar accelerated late, scoring 26 not out from just 11 balls, with three sixes at a strike rate of 236.36.
Lone Star Athletics finished with 21 extras, including 15 wides, as the All Stars bowling attack struggled to contain the scoring. Siddhant Shaah was the most economical bowler, conceding 26 runs in four overs, while Kiran claimed the only wicket, finishing with 1-38.
Chasing 220, All Stars lost Rehman Dar for a duck in the second over and Sujith Narayana Gowda for four, leaving them 5-2 after 1.5 overs. Ian Chauhan scored 27 from 23 balls, while Geeth Bolisetty made 17, but the innings lost momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals.
Nitish Kumar led the bowling effort with 3-20 from three overs, removing Chauhan, captain Amshi De Silva for a duck and Vrishin Kattari for four. Chaitanya Bishnoi took 2-29, including Bolisetty and Praneeth Raj Siddantham, who top-scored for All Stars with 34 from 22 balls, striking three sixes and a four.
Aarin Nadkarni claimed 1-24, while Andre Fletcher contributed with the ball, taking 1-26. Naqash Basharat made an early impact with 2-9 in two overs, dismissing Gowda and Dar.
All Stars slipped to 56-5 before Siddantham and Dhana Krishna Vardhan Vundavalli attempted to rebuild. Vundavalli scored 16 from 13 balls, but his dismissal at 119-8 in the 19th over left the lower order with too much to do. All Stars closed on 125-9, with Yuvan Kiran unbeaten on five and Shaah on one.
The result gives Lone Star Athletics a commanding win in the Minor League Cricket Central competition, while All Stars will need to address their early batting collapses and inability to contain a powerful top order.
