USC crushed UMiami, scoring 160 for 6 in 20 overs. Tarun Tiyagi, the Captain made 59 (5 fours & 1 six). UMiami seemed in a hurry to go to a party was then bowled out for 66.
In the days before the Championship Hashim Khan of George Mason U prepared hard in beautiful South Beach. His Team faced the vaunted University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). UMBC batted first and Nurnish Singh 38 (2 fourss & 3 sixes) and Beenish Bhatia 22* helped them get to 128 for 8 in 20 overs.
George Mason U had no trouble getting to the winning total of 133 for 7.
Ohio State and College of Wooster was another exciting game. Wooster batted first and was powered to 130 by Ijai who made 72 (6 fours & 4 sixes). Romel bowled well to take 2 wickets for 23 runs off 4 overs. Domi of Ohio State responded by making 74* (5 fours & 1 six) to take OSU to victory, 131 for 2.
Akeem Dodson showed his strokes whilst making 62 (5 fours, 2 sixes) to give York College of Queens, NY a respectable total of 130 for 5 off 20 overs. Excellent bowling by York College’s bowlers restricted UPenn CC to 63 to give York College the win.
Boston University scored 124 for 6 and NYU 125 to give NYU the win.
Auburn University CC made 139 after an opening partnership of 57 by Naveen 34 and Maulik 28. George Mason was then surprisingly bowled out for 101 to give Auburn victory.
York University of Toronto amassed 188 runs in 20 overs. Kughroo made 78 (5 fours & 5 sixes), Jai Patel (6 fours & 1 six).St Cloud State U were all out for 112 . Pavan made 56 (6 fours & 2 sixes).Ahmad had the remarkable bowling figures of 1.4 overs,5 runs and 6 wickets in a devastating spell.
