The Eastern American Cricket Association (EACA) held its 2016 Annual General Meeting on Saturday last and the 2015 Executive Committee was returned en bloc to serve another year as the leadership group of the league.
With the exception of the Assistant Secretary/Treasurer’s position, all the other candidates were returned unchallenged. Veteran cricket administrator Courtney LeGall of Atlantis Cricket Club challenged 2015 Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Dilly Khilawan of Liberty Sports Club, but Khilawan easily won reelection by an 8-2 majority of the eligible 10 club ballots cast.
The 2016 EACA Executive Committee is Rudy Persaud, President, Asim Mehmood, Vice President, Johnny Sanasie, Secretary, Zamin Amin, Treasurer and Dilly Khilawan, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.
A little more than 50% of the 2015 list of 18 participating clubs was deemed financially compliant and thus eligible to vote shortly before this year’s elections were conducted. The league is expected to field the same number of teams that participated in 2015, to compete in this year’s 40-Overs and T20 competitions.
